Today’s Scripture: Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. 1¬†Corinthians¬†15:58

As we go through life trying to serve our Savior, we often face opposition. Those around us don’t value the things of God and criticize us for giving our lives to the Lord. They ridicule the young person who decides to go to Bible college and say they are wasting their life. They scorn the one whose lifestyle convicts them. Others criticize those who stand upon the truth of God’s Word when it goes against the popular opinion of the times. Even though some of them may believe in God, they only care about the here and now and think that serving Him is beyond reason.

This is why we are told to be steadfast and unmovable. The world will try to move us-but we mustn’t let that happen. We need to stand firm on God’s Word and serve Him no matter the opposition. We can’t allow anyone to keep us from doing the work of the Lord.

Friend, your service is not a waste; God will use it for His glory. Although you may not see it immediately, God will use your service to Him. Don’t give up because you are discouraged. Many missionaries have brought the Gospel to another land only to die before being able to reach anyone. Yet, God often used their deaths to open the doors for others to come and reach many souls.

No matter who you are-whether you are a preacher with a large congregation, a member in a small-town church, or you are stuck at home or even in the hospital-don’t stop serving. Serve Him however you can, and He will use your service to make a greater difference than you could ever imagine.
