Today’s Scripture: Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Psalm 37:7
|So many people simply cannot wait for God to work and take things into their own hands instead. I admire the attitude of a woman I met once. She told me rather matter-of-factly, “The men I have dated are not committed to Christ, and I am willing to wait for someone that is. If God brings someone like that into my life, wonderful, but I am willing to let that happen instead of jumping ahead of God’s will.”
When you live without worry and doubt, you will come to realize the rich blessings God has given you. You will see the fruits of serving Christ in your home, your workplace, and your ministry. Here are a couple tips to becoming a more patient Christian.
1. Restrain your tongue, your complaints, and murmuring.
Are you completely satisfied with God’s blessings in your life? He has given you all things. Don’t let yourself murmur. Every time you think about complaining, think of a praise instead. You will start developing the patience needed to live a contented life. We are to look to Jesus’ life and follow Him and His example. When you examine His life, it was one of meekness and patience in the utmost degree. The only time He rebuked His disciples was when they showed a lack of faith. He showed only compassion to them when they acted within their physical limitations. Today, remember to leave complaining behind, and give all the thanks and praise to God!
