Today’s Scripture: And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? Matthew¬†14:31

Why do we doubt? I believe a main reason is that we look at our failures and use that as a measuring stick for the future. However, we must be honest with God. Has God ever failed you in the past? Was there ever a time when God did not lift His mighty hand and guide you through your situation?

Has God ever been unfaithful to you? Has there ever been a time when He ignored you? Did God ever lie to you or let you down? Of course, He hasn’t, but we forget His incredible goodness.

This hits home to me because I have counseled many, many Christians on this very subject of doubt. Yet, I will find myself in a predicament, and what do I do? I begin to doubt God.

There was a gentleman in my church whom God had blessed enormously, at least it appeared that way to me. He shared with me that he could not see God’s hand of blessing on his life. I was taken aback by this because it seemed to me that God had bestowed more than his share of blessings on him. So, I started going through everything that he really had. I told him that there was a serious problem in his life. The more I went through it, the more he saw how his own selfishness had not only clouded his vision, but had also served as a guideline in his life.

God has never left us, even when we were in the worst condition. When faced with a tough situation, rather than doubting, remember His Providence.
