When an eagle senses a storm is coming, he doesn’t fight it. He rises higher than the storm and glides through the air. Every believer bears a burden. Know in your deepest sorrow your loving Father will help you rise above it.
A pastor came to me many years ago and said that his board voted for him to resign. He knew the people loved and cared for him. His burden was great as he faced an upcoming church meeting.
I thought then about how the disciples reacted to that storm on the Sea of Galilee. The disciples fretted while the Lord of the storm lay sleeping, seemingly oblivious to their needs.
But the whole time our Lord was in control. The storm wasn’t a surprise to Him. He knew the end from the beginning, which was why He was able to sleep.
The disciples didn’t wake Him with gentle words. Peter said to him, “Do you not care that we are about to die?” They accused the God of the Universe of not caring about them.
His love for them was constant regardless of their perception. Don’t do the same thing the disciples did. Although you might be facing something really difficult, know that Jesus cares. Your Lord can help you rise above the storm.
Won’t you ask Him to give you His strength right now?
