Today’s Scripture: Be ye followers of God, as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us… Ephesians 5:1-2

How much better would our lives be if we looked at every single thing that we are given as a gift? Not long ago, I was given one of the greatest gifts from God that I could have ever hoped for…and her name is Willow. For the first time in my life, I understand why grandparents are so fanatical, because I now am one! I hold that precious little bundle of joy and wonder how life ever went on without her. She is by far the most perfect child to ever be born into this world aside from Christ-you think I’m joking. But really as a grandparent I can say this and believe every single word. I have joined the elite club of those that view their grandchildren as the most angelic beings to walk the planet. Seriously, children are the rainbow and the grandkids are the glimmering pot of gold at the end!

I look at the little fingers and toes that our Creator has made: the tiny smile on her face and the delicate wispy hair on her head, and I am amazed at how gracious God is. This beautiful little child is God’s property that He has entrusted in our care. Only He can miraculously design each perfect little detail. We cannot even fathom it.

Now, I want you to think about how you feel about the little ones in your life, how deeply you love and care for them-the way that you pick them up when they fall, dry all their tears, and love giving them fluffy stuffed animals that make them smile. Imagine all of that love and multiply it by infinity. That is the love with which our Heavenly Father cares for us. It is not a casual affection, a passing moment of his attention, or a flippant care; we are His pride and joy.

Each day, we are given the gift of having a Father Who will love, uphold, and cherish us no matter what. He gave everything for us, including His only begotten Son. So, whatever you are facing right now, look up to Him. Let Him pick you up from wherever you may have fallen, and embrace the mercy and forgiveness He offers. Don’t live another day feeling defeated or worthless. You are loved by a Savior who is bigger than the universe itself. You are a marvelous creation, and your soul knoweth right well. Live thankful for the gift you have been given, and those problems you are facing will begin to fade in the light of your Heavenly Father’s infinite glory.
