Today’s Scripture: For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men. 1 Corinthians 4:9
There was a preacher who was terribly discouraged. It was becoming harder and harder for him to do his ministry. He went to a friend whom he could trust for counsel. He asked, “Should I leave the ministry?”
His friend replied, “Never think of giving up preaching. The angels around the throne envy your great work.”
Did you know that the angels can’t do the work which we all are privileged to do? It is our privilege to preach the gospel to the lost. God has placed that responsibility on us, not His angels. Are angels envious (for lack of a better term) of your responsibility? I believe there is biblical evidence for this.
Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into. 1 Peter 1:12
We are a spectacle to the world, to angels, and to men. That means we better take how we live our lives seriously. Take your responsibility to reach the world as an honor. God has allowed you to do something that “the angels desire to look into.”
Don’t waste your life doing little for God. Make the angels jealous by reaching the world!
