Today’s Scripture: But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only…Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Matthew 24:36, 44

Have you ever had someone knock on your door at about 10:30 at night and tell you, “Hey, I just want to let you know that later tonight, at around 2:00 A.M., I am going to be back to steal all of your belongings.”

No successful thief announces his presence. They are very careful to not let anyone know that they are coming. 2 Peter 3:10 tells us that the Lord will return as a thief in the night. One question that people always want an answer to is, “When is the Rapture coming? When will the world end?”

The Bible is clear that nobody knows except God the Father. If somebody says, “This is the date of the Rapture”, then you can go ahead and be sure that the Lord will not return on that date. Many have predicted dates, and all of them have been wrong in their predictions. Do not follow people like that. If they predict a date and it does not happen, then they have proven themselves to be false prophets.

The beauty of the pretribulational view of the Rapture is that it is the only view that is truly speaking of imminence – the idea that the Rapture can happen at any moment. If the Rapture takes place in the middle of the Tribulation, then I can tell you when it is going to happen. The same is true if the Rapture takes place at the end of the Tribulation.

The Lord will return. The Bible says it, and we can believe it. The question is, When will He return? However, there is a more important question, and that is this: Are you ready for His return?
