Today’s Scripture: And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Acts 16:30-31
Raise your hand if this has happened to you. You’re working on a home improvement project, and you hit a roadblock. You become stuck trying to figure out how to accomplish the next step. Finally, you give in and do a search on YouTube or Google. To your dismay and frustration, you find that while you have been struggling all this time, a simple solution was right in front of you the entire time.
So many times, we make life hard on ourselves, when in reality, the best solution is usually the simplest. Many times, throughout my father’s ministry and my own ministry here at In Grace, we’ve heard this accusation: “You make it too easy to get saved.”
Friend, my answer to that accusation is that it is God Who has made it easy for us to be saved. We simply tell the Gospel the way God has given it in His Word. Understand that though He has made it easy for us, it was not easy for Him because it cost the very life of His only begotten Son.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him…”
The greatest invitation is received with the greatest simplicity – believe in Jesus Christ. It is not believing in Jesus and get water baptized. It is not believing and do good works. It is not believing and stop all your sinning. It is not believing and surrender every area of your life to God’s Lordship. It is believing on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved. God has made it simple – keep it that way!
