Evangelist W. Herschel Ford spoke about a man who was saved when he was 80 years old. At age 84, one of his grandchildren asked him how old he was. He said, “I have known Christ only four years. Therefore I say that I am only four years of age. I never really and truly began to live until I met Jesus.”
A man or woman might have great health, a good job, a nice family, and a home, but never understand the real joy of good living. You are not living as a believer if you have not committed your daily life to Christ. You just exist.
Do you want to exist or do you want to really live? If you know and follow Christ, you are really living here and you are hurrying on toward eternal life.
If you aren’t living for Christ, your life lacks the best things here and you are heading toward a lack of rewards in Heaven. 1 Corinthians 3:14 states, “If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.”
When you commit yourself to living the Christian life, you have planted your feet on the Rock of Jesus Christ. Have you committed yourself to serving the Lord? Congratulations! Far from just existing, you are really living.
