What are some of the things you have to do today? Go ahead and think through your job responsibilities and errands. Now think about the people you may come across as you do these things. Are they saved or lost? Are they happy or sad? God may intentionally put them in your path so you can be a light for Christ; so get ready. Let me give you an example.

On a plane trip my wife and I took a few months ago, my wife had an opportunity to speak with a dear woman who had just lost her husband. The woman was nearly blind, so she had to be helped on and off the plane. Over the course of the conversation, my wife was able to share the gospel with the woman and encourage her. I know God put us on that plane for her sake. He makes no mistakes.

There are people you will meet today who need a kind word, a smile, a listening ear, or the simple truth of the gospel. Are you prepared to give of yourself to meet their needs, or are you too busy concentrating on yourself to pay them any attention? You may be the only Christian testimony they see today, so never underestimate your influence.

You may be reading this at home. Have you thought about how Christ can use you to meet the needs of your family today? Maybe you are at work. Do you know the needs of your co-workers? Pray for them accordingly. As you go on your errands to the grocery store, the hardware store, or the bank, you will come across even more people, all of whom have unique needs. Ask God to make you a blessing to every person you see today, and you can be sure He will put you in the right place at the right time.
