Everything you do for Christ will make a difference. The famous evangelist, Billy Sunday, hosted over 300 revivals and preached to an estimated 100 million people. Sunday claimed 1 million of these people trusted Christ through his preaching. None of this would have happened if one woman didn’t step out and speak to him about Christ.
Billy Sunday was a baseball player for the Chicago White Stockings (now the Chicago White Sox), when he and a few friends heard a gospel team from the Pacific Garden Mission sing and preach on a Sunday afternoon. Billy enjoyed the singing so much he began to attend the services on a regular basis. While he attended these services, one of the women who worked at the mission persuaded him to put his trust in Jesus Christ. The rest is history.
You may never be able to preach to a million people in your lifetime. In fact, you may never even speak before a crowd. But you have a unique opportunity God has given to no one else to reach those people in your sphere of influence with the gospel. If God can use one faithful woman to lead a Billy Sunday to Christ, then He can use you to make an eternal impact on someone who may accomplish even greater things for the Kingdom. Every contact we make is significant.
Are you aware of opportunities to share your faith? Maybe you know a gas station attendant who has opened up to you about his life situation. There could be a neighbor whose daughter needs a godly woman to show her Christ’s love. Opportunities are all around us, but it’s up to us to seize them. The next person you lead to Christ could become another Billy Sunday. You’ll never know until you step out and speak up for your Savior.
