God made us free moral agents so we could make choices. Let’s read Deuteronomy 30:19-20:

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

Whether life or death, it’s up to us. Whether blessing or cursing, it’s our call. God encourages us to choose life because He is pro-life. But with the freedom to choose comes a solemn warning: Not choosing the path of life is a bad decision with dire consequences. Life is a wise choice.

Each day you’re called upon to make decisions. You can witness to that person who desperately wants to know about eternity, or you can brush him off. You can use this weekend to engage in a debilitating addiction, or you can spend time in God’s Word. The choices you make are a reflection of your commitment to the pathway of life or death. I hope you will make the best choice today.

Life would be so much easier if everyone read the manual. — Unknown Author
