Today’s Scripture: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. John 10:28-29

I find smartphones to be very handy and useful tools, but I have a real problem with them. I am always dropping my phone in liquid. So when I purchased a new smartphone a year or so ago, I was excited to discover that one of the amazing new features on the device is the fact that it is water resistant. It can go down three or four feet under water, and it will keep working.

Now that I have this amazing security and protection, how many times do you suppose I’ve dropped my phone in water? That’s right – zero. Now that I know for sure I can drop it in water without damaging it, I’m longing for the day when I accidentally drop it in water! For some reason, now that I can, I don’t.

I realize that is not the best illustration, but it does bring home a point. How wonderful will it be when you realize that nothing can separate you from the love of God! A lot of people have misinterpreted the Scriptures, and they think that they are saved by grace, but then can lose eternal life by sinning again. Let me tell you something: if you’re saved by grace, you’re going to sin again. It is just part of life. You shouldn’t, but you do because you still have the old nature. When you are not walking in the Spirit, you’re going to walk in the flesh. You will sin, and God will lovingly chasten you. Yet, you will never be cast out. You have the security that you are a child of God – safe, secure, and sealed!
