|Today’s Scripture: Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Hebrews 13:5|
|Charity gives itself rich; covetousness hoards itself poor. -German Proverb
Do any of these statements reflect your outlook on life?
What is the bottom line in all of these attitudes? A general discontentment with the way people or things are meeting your needs. What is the problem with this way of thinking? It absolutely goes against how God wants His children to act. He wants them to go to Him to get their needs met. He wants them to seek His face and His peace for the different trials they face. When His children turn to people or things to get satisfaction out of life, they are going to be disappointed every time. Do you have this tendency? Go to the Lord. Confess that you are looking to the wrong place for your personal fulfillment. And then look to the One who is able to give you exceeding abundantly above all you could ever ask or think.
