Some people have too much pride to be teachable. Some are too stubborn to be teachable. Others are too self-sufficient to be teachable. They will never increase in wisdom. How sad to hold back our mouths from witnessing to others because we feel inadequate. How sad not to read our Bibles because our understanding seems limited compared to others. How sad not to spend time in prayer because we feel we don’t know how.
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might. Be a man or woman who hears what God has to say and faithfully sets out to do the right thing.
God has called each believer to a place of service. There are no verses in Scripture that place limitations on who is eligible to serve or not.
So why are we here on this earth? We are to personally know Christ as Savior. We are to grow stronger in Christ. We are to tell others of His great love. We are not here for our own benefit. We are here for the benefit of others – those you already know and those you haven’t met yet.
Maybe there is a neighbor who would love to hear about the love of Christ. Perhaps you and your child could whip up a batch of brownies for her. Maybe there is a loved one who would appreciate a trip to the grocery store or the mall. It could be that you have a co-worker who would love a nice card sharing how much you care about him or her.
There are many things you could do to make life easier for the people around you. Why don’t you do one of those things today?
A faithful and good servant is a real godsend; but truly it is a rare bird in the land. — Martin Luther
