Today’s Scripture: For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 1 Thessalonians 4:15-16

As I was growing up, my parents instilled in me a sense of eager anticipation for the return of the Lord. I always knew that the Rapture could happen at any time.  We often sang the famous hymn in church, “Coming Again” and we would change the words to “may be morning, may be noon, may be evening, and WILL be soon.”

The Lord Himself will descend from Heaven with a shout. This is the voice of Jesus, and when we hear that shout, it is the call that we will not be able to resist. The Bible says the “dead in Christ shall rise first”.  This means those who have died and are buried will rise first followed by those who are alive.  We will all meet our Savior in the air.

The Scripture clearly teaches that the return of the Lord is imminent. Nothing prophetically must happen before the Lord returns. No man knows the day or the hour, but with the way things are in our world today, it can’t be much longer.

Believer, we need to do all that we can to spread the message of God’s love to this lost and dying world.  It may be another hundred years before He returns; or it may be today! Are you ready? Are you excited about the return of the Lord? Are you doing all that you can for Him?
