Today’s Scripture: Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. Colossians 3:11
A church was having a time of testimonies one evening. One frail old man struggled to stand up and speak. In tears, he stood there, shaking, and said, “I’m an old man, my wife has gone to be with the Lord, my children are all grown, my health is about gone, and I don’t have much money. Come to think of it, Christ is all I have left.”
He sat down and the service went on. A few minutes later, he once again struggled to stand up and speak. “Come to think of it, Christ is all I need.”
Christ is all in revelation. He has revealed Himself to us in His Word. The Bible is God’s revealed Word to us. We are all about preaching God’s revelation: knowing it first ourselves, and then taking it to the people we are called to.
The Bible is everything there is, and Christ is all in revelation. If you begin with this Book, you begin with the Creator, and you end with the same person. From Genesis to Revelation, it is all about one person – Jesus Christ.
Jude 1:3 tells us that the revelation that God has given has been delivered and done. He has revealed Himself to us through His Son, Jesus Christ.
God gave revelation to the penmen of the Scriptures, and it is done, once for all. God, perhaps, shines light on a truth that He has already revealed, but that is not revelation. Christ is all in revelation; there is nothing more that will be revealed. What an encouragement to know that we have everything that we will ever need!
