Have you made up your mind? Dr. E. Stanley Jones said, “If you don’t make up your mind, then your unmade mind will unmake you. Here’s a place where there must be no dallying, for any dallying will be the Trojan horse that will get on the inside and open the gates to the enemy. God can do anything for the man who has made up his mind. He can do little or nothing for the double-minded man.”
I’m not talking about deciding whether to wear blue or brown socks, or choosing between corn flakes or raisin bran for breakfast. I’m talking about having our minds made up about things of eternal value. In this area, Christians can be some of the most indecisive people I know.
What do you believe about Creation, the possibility of a world-wide flood, or miracles in the Bible? On a more personal level, can you submit to your difficult boss? Is God able to provide a mate for you? Can you really trust Him to take care of you if you’ve lost your job?
We all want to give a positive answer to these questions. Maybe you are torn between what you think is best and what God’s Word says about your situation. Make up your mind today. Believe God. Keep the Trojan horse of indecision out.
We know what happens to people who stay in the middle of the road. They get run over. — Aneurin Bevan
