Look, He’s Moving

Today's Scripture: Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5
Three friends were discussing death and one of them asked, “What would you like people to say about you at your funeral? The first of the friends said: I would like them to say, “He was a great humanitarian, who cared about his community.”
The second said, “He was a great husband and father, who was an example for many to follow.”
The third friend said, “I would like them to say, ‘Look, he’s moving!’”
That would be an interesting funeral, to say the least. But, we should all seriously consider what will be said at our funeral. What is our life made of? Will people have to struggle to say good things, or will the actions of our life give them enough material?
Fortunately, where we go when we pass from this earth doesn’t depend upon what is done in our lives. That’s because as good as we are, there is no way we can earn our way to Heaven. That’s why Jesus had to die. He paid the penalty for our sin, giving us the free gift of eternal life.
What will be said at your funeral? Hopefully, there will be good things. But most importantly, will those who love you be able to say, “He was saved by grace”?
Today's Quote: Time is short, eternity is long. It is only reasonable that this short life be lived in the light of eternity.—Charles Spurgeon
