Today's Scripture: Revelation 20:11-14
The believer will not be judged in the same way as the unbeliever. Because the unbeliever has never trusted in Jesus Christ for his salvation he will not enter Heaven when he dies. He will be judged at what is called the “Great White Throne Judgment” after the Millennium. The time between when he dies and when he is judged, is spent in a place called “Hades Torture.”
What will the unbeliever be judged for? He will be judged for his lack of belief in Jesus Christ as the payment for his sins. There are no believers at the Great White Throne therefore all of them will be thrown into the Lake of Fire. They will also be judged for their works during their lifetime receiving punishment and everlasting torture (Matthew 11:21-22).
The thought of the unbeliever’s judgment ought to spur us on to greater efforts in our soul-winning. It ought to make us willing to do what- ever it takes to share the good news of the Gospel with everyone that we can. It brings to mind the words to an old song they used to sing, “Let me see this world, dear Lord, as though I were looking through your eyes. A world of men who don’t want you, Lord. But a world for which you died.” Ask God to give you even greater urgency to win others to Christ.
Today's Quote: The judgment of the unbeliever ought to make us more aware of our need to witness.
